The worst of the worst had happened. I've lost almost complete interest in 'Absurdity'. I fought so hard for it not to happen. Yet ... it still did. I've got half of the next chapter written out, and I don't forsee myself finishing it any time soon. I'd love to blame my lack of writting on a lack of time. Finals and all this other crap, but the fact of the matter is that I just don't have the motivation to finish. Too many other fics are demanded my attention and Good Charlotte is just boring to write right now. At least the current plot is. I've got a million different plotbunnies alive.
Actually, I figure within the month I'll finish the chapter, but after that I make no promises. And you know, this annoys me, because I have the rest of the story planned out, and most of the sequel. I can only hope I'm further inspired some where down the line ...
I want to get a few plotbunnies out of the way and then I'll attempt this again. The Semester is coming to an end, and I will have more time, but until then this is on hold.
I'm so damn sorry. Discontinued fics annoy the hell out of me, even my own. |

Chapter Five: When secrets are no more
Authors Notes: Such an easier chapter to write than the previous one. I apologize for how choppy the end of this chapter starts to become. It always seems to happen to me lately, and I was distracted by the Olympics.
I’m sure you’ll note this chapter is about five hundred words shorter than normal. I didn’t do this on purpose, it just happened. Don’t hate me for it.
Ah, yes, I’m back at college and Fall semester is in. This means I’m hating life and working my ass off with school. However lucky for me and you, I have a two hour break between my history class and my advanced calculus class. This means I’ll usually be able to use this time to work on the future chapters that will be posted in my life journal. And I just think it’s proper for me to note that chapter six might be delayed because I’m officially buying my house and all my free time will be going into that and moving in.

Chapter Four: J is for Joel
Authors notes: Again, I apologize for becoming sick. I obviously didn’t plan it and I didn’t enjoy it. But I’m all better now, and ready to start paying some serious attention to this story. I really need to attempt and squeeze as much out in the next two weeks as possible, considering the semester starts very soon, and I’ll be dead with work after that.
This is where I get to bitch about how awful this chapter was to write. My beta knows how much I struggled over it, and therefore how much I have grown to hate it. There are four different versions of this chapter on my computer, and I’ve been tempted to post all four just to show you all how many different ways my muse took this chapter. I don’t every want to revisit the problems I had with this chapter, ever again. Let us be rid of it. (Thank you, Samwise.)
Anyway, thanks for the responses on the slash issue. Currently this story will remain slash free. I’m going to try and keep it as clean as possible, but don’t be surprised if little hints sneak in, or this changes in the future. There is no danger of this becoming a twincest story, for little Benji is a complete heterosexual (though I think a few might beg to differ) in this story. Lil’ Joel might be a different story . . . and that damn Eric keeps giving me some ideas, but nothing to fear at the current time.

Chapter Three: Nearly there, but no cake.
Authors notes: Yadadadada, this is where I sit here and tell you how unhappy I am with this chapter. The amount of times I’ve edited should be proof enough. I apologize for how choppy it is, but I really wanted to get it done before I didn’t have the time to do it.
What I’ve started to notice is however dark I made Paradox, this is going to be far worse. From the first chapter I noticed my story was darker than I’d first imagined. I can promise a happy ending this time, but I can’t promise many happy times along the way.
Good news for anyone who really cares. I’ve finally finished planning the chapters out,
(Which is making them longer than I originally intended) and with the structure, my muse has been telling me there will be a sequel to this as well. Just when I think I’m free, I find out there is more after this. I know exactly how Absurdity will end, and I know how I want to start the squeal.
Finally, don’t hate me. I’m trying, I’m trying soooooo freaking hard to keep this clean. I manage to control the twincest and the regular slash spirals out of control. I’m honestly not aware of what I write until I go back and look. It slips in left and right, and I just can’t stop it all. My apologies, and I’ll quarantine myself if necessary. I will take comments directed at this separately. I frankly want to know how many people would be upset if a bit more than ‘a little’ spilled in.
